String Measuring Method - circumference

You will need a short piece of string (dental floss works well), a pen that will mark it and a ruler or tape measure in millimeters.

Step 1

Wrap the string firmly around your middle finger, between your fingernail and the last joint in your finger as shown. Tighter will lead to a better fit.

Step 2

Where the string overlaps, mark it with the pen.

Step 3

Place the marked string on the ruler and measure between the marks in millimeters.

Step 4

Repeat steps 1, 2 & 3 for your pinky, or smallest finger.

Didn't get a clear result?

There are many things that can cause our digital solution to not give a clear result. We have tried to make it as simple as possible and only give good advice. This meant building in some boundaries around giving a result. You can read about non-results here. Or you can skip ahead to more detailed information below that.

You are on the smaller side of Extra Small

There are limits on how small we can manufacture our Claws, and your
delightful fingers are somewhere around that zone. Our best suggestion
is to try the Extra Small set and expect to use the fitting pads that
are supplied with all of our Premium Nylon Claws.

Your sizes are very similar

Every Claw in a set is a different size. The calculations done above
weren't able to find a set that would fit all of your fingers equally
well. You can use the chart below to see what we mean. You should be
able to find something there that works for you, choose a tighter fit
for sensation play or a looser fit for comfortable costumery.

There is a very large difference between the sizes you have given

Your Pinky tells us one size and your Middle finger says another
substantially different size. We have built some tolerance for this into
our calculator based on our experience. We wish we had the opportunity
to see your wonderful hands in person and do a fitting. We hope the
extra information below will guide you well.

You are just above our Large size

This is good news! It means that our Large Claws will be a firm fit if they are not too tight. We can make larger sized Claws and recommend starting out with a standard set.
